Technical description Interactive Metronome® (IM) is software consisting of a series of 13 hand and foot interactive exercises which are performed while auditory tones direct the individual to match the metronome beat. The program evaluates and assesses the performance of the user.
Science foundation claims Timing and rhythmicity are important functions that relate to a variety of cognitive and motor skills.
Through repetition of interactive exercises, IM users experience sustained focus for longer and longer periods of time. Planning and sequencing is not efficient in patients with learning and developmental disorders. IM strengthens neurological timing in such patients.
Protocol of Use The program consists of 12 or 15 one-hour sessions, which can be completed in 3 to 5 weeks.
