April is Autism Awareness Month. This month we highlight all the abilities, bring awareness, and promote acceptance of children and adults with Autism. All children are unique especially those with Autism. One child with autism, may have a completely different skill set or learning style than another child with autism. Each child will face different challenges, and it is important to have a plethora of interventions to work with different children to see which styles of therapy, structures or environments the child will excel in.

In a matter of months, the entire world has changed. We are all trying our best to adjust to new rules, new structures and new realities. And while that is overwhelming for just about anyone, it especially affects children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (commonly abbreviated to ASD), as they need a solid structure and predictable routines to be comfortable.

Auditory stimulation programs are alternative therapies which stimulate the brain by manipulating the sounds of music and/or voice.

There are many alternative therapies which have an impact on memory. For example, auditory and speech stimulation have an impact on short-term memory, also called verbal or working memory.

Eye and vision techniques are alternative approaches based on physical eye movement and visual perception.
